Why gandhi is a hero

He helped factory workers get paid more because they didn't get enough money. He was a great political and spiritual leader for many people.

Gandhi also wrote newspaper articles protesting discrimination against people of color. He was a great Civil Rights leader and he demanded equal treatment for all under the law. Mahatma Gandhi's peaceful methods for change is why he was a great leader. Mahatma Gandhi is my hero for many different reasons.

He was the bravest person I know. He was a great leader who used non-violence to fight for India's independence. He made the world a better place and never gave up in his beliefs. Non-violence helped him through the bad times as he persevered with his goals. Mahatma Gandhi said, " We must be the change we wish to see. He changed my life because my family is from India. India would not be a free country without Gandhi's work. Mahatma Gandhi said, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.

Pal, Amitabh. He developed some thoughts about Happiness. I know about that because of my blog. He was incredible with words. Great profile guys! I just wish there were some way to re-introduce the man and his teachings to people today. We sure could do with a refresher course in non-violent social and political change. Ghandi has left a major impact on todays society, and his name is being put to more use, because of this war that is going on. Peace, and unity are some of the common issues we are trying to spread, and Ghandi made the ground for us to build on.

Gandhi was a man who believed that non-violence was the only way to live life. Never raising his hand to anyone, and always abiding by the laws. Even when provoked, he never let the ignorance of another man get under his skin.

ALthough he has passed, his teachings continue to live on. He taught that passivism, is an equally, if not more, powerful tool than physical violence in the fight against intolerance and inequality.

He brought forth a new, effective way of rebellion—peaceful rebellion. He showed that people could make change without doing wrong. Although he was assassinated for speaking out, his actions were well worth the time and effort he put forth. He changed life for an entire race for the rest of forever. But there is no doubt that he is one of the greatest heroes of all time. The Indian Sub-continent where Ghandi applied his revolutionary non-violence movement philosophy is split in to 3 countries now.

No doubt, Ghandi is worshiped especially at current India. When Mahatma Gandhi came to London in , he stayed in the poverty-stricken East End of the city, then visited struggling cotton mill workers in Lancashire. Now he is to be honoured with a statue in London's Parliament Square, looking out over the Palace of Westminster in the company of such establishment figures as Benjamin Disraeli and his old opponent Sir Winston Churchill.

When the statue was announced , the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, said Gandhi's "approach of non-violence will resonate forever as a positive legacy, not just for the UK and India, but the world over". The statue is designed to pay tribute to a man who lived humbly, loved humanity and practised non-violent struggle against a powerful adversary: the British Empire. Many of those who gave money for it see him as an example to future generations.

But there is some irony in the fact that even as Gandhi is being so warmly embraced by the British establishment that once mocked him, his legacy in India is more ambivalent.

Hindu hardliners in India, emboldened perhaps by the sweeping national election victory last year of the pro-Hindu nationalist party, the BJP, are increasingly vocal in criticising Gandhi. They accuse him of having betrayed Hindus by being too pro-Muslim, and even for the division of India and the bloodshed that marked partition. Leadership was one of Gandhi's heroic qualities.

One way he demonstrated leadership was by encouraging people in his village to start using homespun clothing. The poor became employed to make homespun clothes for others in the village and outside of their own village.

Moreover, Gandhi ended the issue of discrimination against untouchables. Back in those days, the Hindus used to discriminate against the untouchables, who were their own kind but just low in the caste system. Gandhi made the Hindus realize that what British people were doing to them is the same thing that they were doing to the untouchables.

This made the Hindus realize what they were doing to the untouchables. Last but not least, the Indian Independence Movement was the all-time heroic deed led by Gandhi. This movement was accomplished in by Mahatma. This movement took place because India was governed by the British, and Gandhi wanted India to become independent. Therefore, Gandhi showcased many outstanding leadership skills that made him a hero.

Simplicity is the second most heroic quality that Gandhi demonstrated. Gandhi believed in living a simple life. He wanted a simple life, with only the necessities that he needed. Even though he was a barrister a lawyer , he had no arrogance.

He dressed like a poor person and he only wore clothes that were homespun, made out of khadi cotton. He was a vegetarian and then became a fruitarian; many days he would go without eating and would not complain.
