Can you wax varicose veins

Hello, I've done a waxing course and I am still unsure about the process of waxing if someone has varicose veins. So I know that if someone has varicose veins you can only wax above the vein, but I just want to be conpletely clear. Does this mean, if someone has a varicose vein, just under their knee, you can only wax from the knee and up and that you cannot wax around their lower legs at all. Thanks in advance. Depends if it is just superficial veins or actual varicose veins , personally I would not.

As the health part of that is the clots which could travel etc.. It's also more painful. I would suggest she gets doc note , rather safe then sorry. Clients always say it's fine but let one thing go wrong no matter how many years they been coming to you and you think your buddy buddy! When you have varicose veins, you must take care of and use safe hair removal methods.

Otherwise, you could harm your sensitive veins. The good news is that there are various ways to remove unwanted hair, some that are perfectly acceptable to use by those with varicose veins, and some that should be avoided.

Generally speaking, if you have varicose veins, you will want to avoid hair removal methods that use excessive heat or razors. You want to avoid using excessive heat because any level of heat dilates veins. Since varicose vein walls are already distended and weakened, increased blood flow can cause discomfort and even spontaneous bleeding.

Avoiding the use of a razor around varicose veins is just good common sense. Hands down, shaving is the easiest, most accessible, and inexpensive way to eliminate large areas of unwanted hair. These are minor inconveniences for most people, but for someone with varicose veins, a small laceration can turn into big trouble. Varicose veins are highly susceptible to bleeding. Add the heat of a warm shower or bath to the mix, and you have a recipe for a bloody mess.

Alternative: If shaving is your go-to for hair removal, try a razor specifically designed to use on dry skin. Dry shaving, with the proper razor, can be less abrasive to the skin and varicose veins. Just be extra careful when you are shaving around a protruding vein. During most waxing procedures, the wax is heated, slathered on the skin, and then removed with a fabric strip. Waxing Varicose veins in legs. Thread starter Sarzy Start date Sep 20, Help Support SalonGeek:. Sarzy Well-Known Member. Hi I've a lady who has quite bad varicose veins in her legs and she has asked me if I can wax them. I know its contra-indicative - is my best option a gp letter ok-ing it or should I avoid this all together?

She's kind of a friend and i'd like to help her if I can. THanks in advance! Topmarks Active Member. Funny things varicose veins. THanks Topmarks I wouldnt be embarassed. Honestly in my opinion vaginas are not the best things to look at and i highly doubt the person waxing pays attention to who has the good or bad loking vagina haha.

I agree with pp, vaginas are not that pretty and I am also thinking that whoever is gonna be doing the waxing has seen some pretty ugly ones and won't be offended by your veins. So if it is safe I say go for it! OMg I wrote this post an another board. Long story short I was scared that i couldnt handle it at a salon so I bought a at home kit. I did it the other night. I didnt even do all of it. First off its way more painfull if your pregnant and always the first time hurts the worse.

I actually bled. The skin is so tender down there. I didnt rip skin off just teh skin is so tender that some hair folicules bled. I have decided to heck with it, nothing is it. Thats what Im doing.
