I assume you're talking about some sort of huge Magikarp to show to the NPC that wants to see one. There is no specific Magikarp you need to catch; just use the Old Rod and catch whatever Magikarp you find, show it to him, and it should be enough.

If he doesn't accept it, then just keep catching more until he does.
